Central Teacher Eligibility Test which is popularly called as CTET. This entrance exam is a gateway for all the candidates who want to apply for the post of government school teachers for class 1 to viii. The entrance exam is held at national level across India two times every year. The examination is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education- CBSE. All the candidates who clear the entrance exam get the job of a school teacher at different schools that are administered by central government. Following are in-depth details about the entrance exam.

CTET 2018 Important Dates (Tentative):

Following are the details regarding important dates for CTET 2018 all the candidates must also visit the official website for updates-

Closing date for application fee payment via credit card/debit card or E-Challan December 2017
Date of Online correction in Application form December 2017- January 2018
Status of online application form will be available from December 2017
Release of admit card January 2018
Date of entrance exam February  2018

CTET Certificate and Marks statement will   be issued on May 2018

Eligibility for CTET 2018:

All the candidates who are willing to appear for the exam much check their eligibility before filling the application form. Given below are the eligibility conditions-

Eligibility for primary level (Class I to V):

  • All the candidates who wish to apply must have passed 10+2 exams or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks, one must also have cleared or pursuing diploma in elementary education.
  • The candidates is eligible only when they have cleared senior secondary examination or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks and must have cleared or still pursuing diploma in elementary education
  • The candidates is eligible only when they have cleared senior secondary examination or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% and completed or still pursuing 4 year course of Bachelor of Elementary Education.
  • The candidate must have cleared their senior secondary examination or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% and must have completed or still pursuing two year diploma program of Education.
  • A candidate is eligible if they possess a graduation degree and must have cleared or still pursuing two year diploma program in Elementary Education.

Procedure to apply for CTET 2018:

All the candidates who are eligible to appear in exam must apply through the application form. The following are the procedure to fill the application form-

  • A candidate can apply for the CTET 2018 entrance exam only through the official website of the board which will be made available from December 2017.
  • A candidate is required to login to the page on the official website from where they will be directed to fill the application form
  • All the candidates are required to fill the application form very carefully providing all the relevant information asked in the form.
  • A candidate is also required to attach and upload their recent passport size photograph and signature along with the application form.
  • After completion of the above steps, candidate is required to pay the application fees
  • A candidate is then required to click on the submit button and finally, required to take a hard copy of the acknowledgment generated on the website for further references.

Application fees for CTET 2018:

  • The application fees for Paper-1 or II for general category and OBC students is Rs. 600 whereas a sum of Rs. 1000 is for both papers.
  • Whereas the application fees for Paper-1 or II for students belonging to SC/ST/PH is Rs. 300 whereas combined fees for both papers is Rs. 500.
  • All the candidates can pay their fees through their debit cards or credit cards and net banking.
  • It is to be noted that application once paid by the student will not be refunded. 

Exam pattern for CTET 2018:

Following are the details of exam pattern that come each and every year in CTET:

  • Two papers will be held under CTET will include paper-I and paper –II
  • All the applicants who wish to apply for post of primary level teachers must give paper –I whereas for the post of elementary level students need to give paper –II
  • Hindi and English are the two preferred languages of the exam
  • An applicant need to score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify CTET
  • Both the paper will comprise a total of 150 questions.

The details of the syllabus can be seen by all the candidates on the official website of CTET. All the candidates can download information brochure for the website for CTET 2018. All the candidates are required to keep themselves updated regarding the syllabus from the website.

CTET 2018 Admit Card:

Once the candidates successfully fill in the application form and pay the required fees they will then be able to download the admit card when it gets released by the board conducting the exam. Students are required to keep visiting the official website of CTET to download their admit card. It is to be noted that admit card is a very important document for all the candidates without which they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
