NEST 2018 entrance exam will be conducted to invite admission into 5 years M.sc course. The National Entrance Screening Test commonly known as NEST . It is a very popular entrance examination that is held at national level. The Test will be conducted by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in the month of May 2018. This exam is conducted all across India in 59 cities. It acts as a gateway for all the aspirants who want to pursue their career with an integrated M.Sc course. All the candidates can apply for the exam after checking their eligibility for the same. Following are in-depth details about NEST 2018.

Friends, if you want to sit in this exam then first of all you should know about its important dates. This will help you to prepare and practice all the courses before exam date. The Exam date has not yet been announced, but I am going to share the tentative date based on the previous year. Following are important details regarding NEST 2018:

Eligibility criteria:

Friends, it is necessary to be qualified to sit in the examination. If you wish to sit in this examination, then you have to fulfill its qualification, which are written below. Following are the eligibility criteria for NEST 2018:

Age limit:

  • All the applicants belonging to General and OBC category are eligible only if they are born on or after 1 August, 1998.
  • Whereas applicants belonging to SC/ST and PD can avail a 5-year relaxation in age limit.

Education qualification:

  • Only those applicants are eligible who has cleared their 10+2 exams in the year 2016 or 2017 with these subjects- Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology
  • All those applicants who cleared their 10+2 exams before 2016 are not eligible for NEST 2018
  • All those applicants who are still appearing for their 10+2 exams can also apply for the exam.
  • All the applicants falling in general and OBC category are eligible only if they have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their 10+2 exams whereas SC/ST/PD candidates must secure a minimum of 55% in their 10+2 exams.

Details of NEST 2018 application form:

Following are important details regarding application form for NEST 2018:

  • All the eligible candidates can apply for NEST 2018 by filling application form which will be made available on official website of the board from the first week of January 2018 to March 2018
  • Candidates can apply for NEST 2018 only through online mode as there is no offline mode to fill the application forms.
  • All the candidates must fill all the details in application form very carefully.
  • All the candidates are required to attach and upload recent passport size photography along with their signature in the application form.
  • Once all the procedure is over all the candidates must keep with themselves a printout of the application form for future use.

Application Fee:

All the applicants are required to pay the application fee to appear in the entrance exam. The fees for all the Male applicants belonging to General and OBC category are required to pay 700 whereas the rest candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD and other females are required to pay 300 only. Application fees can be paid by applicants through their debit cards/credit cards or net banking.

Procedure to submit NEST 2018 Application Form:

As we know, the application will be accepted online and the official website for this is https://www.nestexam.in/. It is quite easy to fill online application through this website, which I am going to tell further. Collect and hold the necessary information before submitting the application and follow instructions shown below. A candidate needs to follow the given blow steps to apply:

  • A candidate firstly need to visit the official website of NEST
  • One then needs to register themselves with their details
  • After a candidates get registered they need to login again to the official website
  • After login a candidate will be able to see the application form for NEST 2018 on the resulting screen which is required to be filled in by the candidate very carefully.
  • A candidate then needs to click on save and proceed button to go on the next page.
  • One then needs to attach and upload their passport size photograph along with signature.
  • Then the candidates are required to pay respective fees which are different for different category candidates.
  • Finally one needs to proceed by clicking on the submit button after which they will be able to print out the acknowledgement form for further purposes.

Syllabus

The entrance exam syllabus for NEST 2018 will be similar to the exam pattern as it comes in CBSE/NCERT science of standard 12th. The entrance exam will include questions from subjects like Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. The paper is divided in different sections; general sections will include questions from historical period about all these subjects.

NEST Admit card 2018:

Following are the details regarding admit card for NEST 2018

  • Admit card is a mandate for all the students to appear in the entrance exam
  • All the students will be able to download their admit card from official website from the 2nd week of April 2018
  • Admit card will only be available online it will not be sent through post or fax.
  • Along with admit card candidates are required to bring an additional id proof on exam date.

NEST Result 2018:

  • All the students can see their results from the official website
  • The expected date of which the results will be available on the official website is from 2nd week of June 2018
  • The board will also be issuing a merit list on the basis of marks obtained by students in exam
  • Admission for all the students will be based on the merit list issued for NEST 2018.
